Marc-Philippe Hornung, MBA
Marc-Philippe focuses on insolvency and restructuring law as well as on the preparation and realization of M&A transactions in times of crisis and special situations ("distressed M&A"). He acts as debtor-in-possession manager (Eigenverwalter), insolvency monitor (Sachwalter) and as insolvency administrator (Insolvenzverwalter).
Marc-Philippe's areas of expertise include insolvency, reorganization and restructuring law. He provides advice on all stages of the crisis, both before and after the opening of insolvency proceedings.
Marc-Philippe is regularly entrusted with the preparation and execution of reorganization proceedings (including so-called StaRUG proceedings) and insolvency proceedings (including debtor-in-possession insolvency proceedings (Insolvenzverfahren in Eigenverwaltung)).
He takes over the position of the debtor-in-possession manager (Eigenverwalter) in debtor-in-possession insolvency proceedings (Insolvenzverfahren in Eigenverwaltung) and operates as insolvency administrator (Insolvenzverwalter) and insolvency monitor (Sachwalter).
Marc-Philippe and his team are certified according to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO INSOLV in the areas of insolvency administration, debtor-in-possession management (Eigenverwaltung), acting as insolvency monitor (Sachwalter) and advising on restructuring.
Another focus of his work lies on M&A in special situations (e.g. M&A transactions in the context of insolvency proceedings), drafting insolvency plans and (dual-purpose) trust agreements.
Before joining SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz, he worked for several years as a lawyer at the law firm Wellensiek Rechtsanwälte in the team led by Dr. Jobst Wellensiek in Heidelberg.
Marc-Philippe is a founding member and a member of the board of directors of "Forum270 – Qualität und Verantwortung in der Eigenverwaltung e.V."
