SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz advises Schumacher Packaging on the sale of its Western European business units to the Mondi Group

An SZA team led by Munich-based partner Dr. Ilja Baudisch provided comprehensive advice to the Schumacher Packaging Group on the financing-related aspects of the planned acquisition by Mondi of seven corrugated cardboard plants, two cardboard plants and four plants for processing solid board with a total of approximately 2,200 employees in Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

The Schumacher Packaging Group, headquartered in Ebersdorf near Coburg, is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of customized corrugated and solid board packaging, with around 4,000 employees at 26 locations in Europe. In the 2023 financial year, the entire Schumacher Packaging Group generated sales of €940 million.

In July of this year, the SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz team was already part of the Schumacher Packaging Group's advisory team in the sale of the Polish subsidiaries with production facilities in Bydgoszcz, Grudziadz, Myszkow and Wroclaw to the Spanish Saica Group.
