SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz advises C.H.Beck on strategic investment in legal tech startup Xayn

SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz, with a team led by Dr. Simon Apel and Dr. Thomas Nägele, advised the publishing house Verlag C.H.Beck GmbH & Co. KG on intellectual property, data protection and antitrust law aspects in connection with its strategic partnership with the Berlin-based AI startup Xayn AG (in future Noxtua SE).

Legal publisher C.H.Beck joins Berlin-based legal tech/AI startup Xayn AG (in future Noxtua SE) as a leading investor. With this investment, Xayn closes its Series B investment round of EUR 80.7 million.

Noxtua is Europe's leading independent legal AI for supporting legal professionals. The appli-cation, which is based on proprietary, self-trained legal language models, offers lawyers a data protection-compliant solution for researching, analyzing, drafting, and revising legal doc-uments—always in accordance with the highest professional and criminal law requirements (Section 203 of the German Criminal Code (StGB), Section 43e of the German Federal Law-yers' Act (BRAO)). Together with C.H.Beck, Noxtua will be further developed as part of the new Beck-Noxtua product – a legal AI workspace that combines the legal content of market leader C.H.Beck with the technical capabilities of Noxtua.
